Default Gaming Mice.

Hi guys.

I'm looking to buy myself a good gaming mouse, and to be entirely honest,I haven' got a clue as to what's good and what's bad. I've been looking at this, and it looks like a good mouse. I'd love it if someone could tell me from first hand experience whether or not its good or bad, and possibly recommend me a mouse, preferably right handed and priced at around £30.

Thanks.

I'm not familiar with that particular mouse, but Saitek is a reasonably good brand, so it's not apt to be junk. I use a Logitech MX518 at the moment, but the Logitech G5 is probably even better (than the MX518).

I have the new G5 from Logitech and it's really good, and their customer support is unmatched in my experience.

I was going to go Razer next time I bought a mouse, but after reading the reviews for practically every one of their products and seeing that they die a lot, I said no.

peripherals, especially gaming mice, are purely personal preference. the best way to find what you want is to go to a brick and mortar store and try everything they have.

with that said, i use a razer deathadder. it took a little getting used to, but now it feels like an extension of my hand.

Microsoft Sidewinder (not the X5, the original), especially if you have big hands.

They all use very similar technologies, so when it comes down to comparing similar models from different companies, it's really the feel and extra features that separate them.

My preferences in order from best to worst:

  • Razer - the original gaming mice, very slim, low profile, variety of design.
  • Logitech - near-perfection and stylish, and very good software.
  • Microsoft - known for being the most ergonomic/comfortable.
  • Saitek - technology on par with Logitech/Microsoft but designs are too weird and uncomfortable for me.

Plus, if you're a hardcore GW fan, Razer made a special GW edition of their mouse.

@brianna
Where have you read this, and what do you mean by dying?

I've had my Razer mouse for at least 4 years now, and it's still in good condition. Razer make all their mice corded, which is important for the best response time; as most wireless mice go into a standby mode to save battery power.

Oh, and this razer mouse guide is somewhat informative for mice in general:

i use the g5 - its a great all round mouse, espec. if your going to use it for things other then gaming.
but really it comes down to what feels right.
anything by logitech or razer will be good, i like the g5 because i have quite large hands so it works well for me.

I've checked out most of the mice, and I'm swaying towards a Razer Deathadder. I've also seen the Lachesis from Razer and its what the site recommended me for what I wanted. Could anyone expand on whether or not its a nice and effective mouse?

Thanks.

I got the Guild Wars edition Death Adder and it is the most comfortable and best mouse I have ever had. The Lachesis is good if you are left handed, but the Death Adder is still completely fine and really fast. I wouldnt worry about people saying they die too much, I have had two Razer mice now, neither has died and the first one lasted for 4 years and still works perfectly. They also have a 2 year warranty so you are covered in the rare case scenario if it does die.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826153003 This is the Razer I wanted if I would have got one, but a lot of people mention that it has this disconnect / reconnecting problem.

I used a Razer Krait for a while and it just didn't like the feel of it so my hubby took it and I ended up getting the Logitech G5 and I love it.
